On Saturday 5th December, Alberta organised the First Alberta Cup Football Tournament at the San Andrea School , Mgarr. The event was very professionally organised by Group Financial Controller, Mr. Cedric Caruana. This full day event was very well attended despite the harsh weather conditions on the day.
Six teams representing The Medium and Domestic Projects Department, The Purchasing/Stores/Servicing Department, The Finance and Sales Department, Two teams from the After Sales Department and one team from The Large Projects Department competed for the top 3 coveted positions, with Team D, The After Sales Department Team D consisting of Jason Dalli, Julian Gravina, Keith Micallef, Daniel Gauci captained by Mr. Roderick Farrugia taking first place and being awarded the prestigious and hard earned Alberta Cup Trophy for 2009. Following in second place was Team C, made up of Adrian Cutajar, Simon Bugeja, George Barbaro Sant, Ridha Dardouri, captained by Cedric Caruana, with Godfrey Azzopardi, Clyde Cauchi and Silvan Ellul as reserves.
Refreshments and lunch was also served and a few supporters braved the winds to support these brave Alberta Sportsmen.
It was indeed a successful Team Building Activity Day which will now become an annual Alberta Event.
