Fire accidents can destroy your property and possessions as well as causing severe injury. Fire accidents are commonly caused as a result of electrical problems, such as overloaded extension cords, damaged power cords, overheated appliances, defective products and open flames (ie. cigarettes, candles, etc.). Fire extinguishers will help to control a fire.

Putting your life back together after a fire incident is both costly and traumatic due to the damaged property as well as the treatment of those injured in the fire. Fortunately, most fires are preventable by making modifications within your home that will allow early detection of fire and provides a means to control it.

Unless liquid fuels or explosives are involved, most fires start as tiny flames which can easily be extinguished or controlled until assistance arrives. Different types of fire extinguishers can be used depending on the cause of the fire. Alberta supplies various different types of fire extinguishers in different sizes to suit your requirements.

Fire extinguishers will help to control a fire but DO NOT risk your life or the lives of others in fighting a fire that has grown too big for you to handle.
