Lightning Protection Systems – Residential

Protecting your family, property and electric devices from lightning and power surges is very important.  When lightning strikes a building, the structure and its contents may be ignited by the heat generated by the lightning current.  A lightning protection system is designed to offer protection from damage due to lightning strikes, by intercepting such strikes and safely passing their extremely high voltage currents to the “ground”.

The system provides a conductive path between an air terminal network and the earth, so that most of the lightning’s current will follow the path of the lightning protection system, with substantially less current traveling through flammable materials.

Alberta can provide you with complete lightning protection solutions, including the design, supply, installation, certification and maintenance of such systems.  Installations conform to the new standard BS EN 62305:2006 protection against lightning.
