APR Energy Libya

In 2015, Alberta was awarded the contract for the demobilisation of mobile gas turbines and all of the ancillary equipment after the agreement between APR and GECOL was not renewed.
This was a very sensitive project due to the prevailing political situation and ongoing conflicts between various militias and Governments in Libya. Moreover, the project had to be executed in a very tight time-frame. Due to Alberta’s long experience in Libya and experience in logistics and dealing in such high security environments, Alberta project managed the decommissioning process at two different sites, mobilised a specialised and skilled workforce from various countries, mobilised all heavy equipment, recorded all assets, packed and loaded all equipment and provided logistical support on the ground up till the port.
One of the most challenging but rewarding tasks was the organisation of the security support required during the transportation of all the equipment which was successfully coordinated with our partners.
